We live in one of the most beautiful and biologically diverse areas of the United States. Wildflowers bloom in abundance from Spring thru Autumn. Learn basic strategies for capturing their beauty! In this workshop we'll cover:

• Originality ~ "Seeing"; Using your imagination to capture a creative image that stands out from "the herd"
  
  
• Composition ~ Finding a composition that “works” and is inspiring! Using the "RULES" including Leading Lines and the Rule of Thirds; Breaking the "rules"; Using different "points of view" to achieve different effects; Working with the wind; Controlling the background, et cetera.
  
  
• Light & Color ~ Lighting quality; Tools for controlling the light; Color distribution in your image
  
  
• The Basics: Exposure ~ Getting the right exposure ... in the camera!
  
  
• The Basics: Clarity ~ Where to focus; Depth of field (sharp or blurred), how it affects your image and how you can use it creatively
  
  

This two day workshop will be taught in a classroom setting by photographer Susanna MacKenzie Euston using slide presentation and discussion, and in the field with demonstration and individual one-on-one instruction. You will also receive informative handouts.

Required: Bring your camera (camera features must incude, at the very least, "aperture & shutter preferred" and 6 MB resolution) and lenses, especially a close-up lens, extension tubes or adaptive close-up lenses (that fit over your normal lens), and a tripod. If you have a diffuser or any other light control tools, bring those, also. PS You must know how to use your camera!
